Job Description

Chief Financial Officer (High-Growth Fintech / Lending Platform)

Charlotte, NC or Dallas, TX (Weekly presence in Charlotte office is expected)
$250K Base + Performance Bonus + Equity Opportunity

This Is Not a Traditional CFO Role

Ternus is building something rare in real estate finance.

A technology-driven lending and capital markets platform designed to scale aggressively over the next five years.

We are not looking for a career corporate CFO who manages spreadsheets and closes books.

We are looking for a builder.

Someone who understands:

  • capital markets
  • deal structure
  • financial leverage
  • institutional capital
  • and how to architect a company built for scale.

If you are currently a VP or Senior VP in investment banking, private equity, structured finance, or capital markets and you are ready for your first CFO seat, this opportunity was designed for you.

The Opportunity

Ternus is a rapidly scaling real-estate-secured lending platform combining:

• Technology-enabled loan origination
• Institutional capital partnerships
• Advanced data and AI-driven underwriting
• A scalable capital markets infrastructure

The company is currently experiencing rapid growth and is building toward a large-scale liquidity event within five years.

This CFO will help architect the financial engine behind that trajectory.

The right candidate will have the opportunity to help scale a platform from early growth stage to institutional exit.

What You Will Own

This is a hands-on financial leadership role, not a reporting function.

You will lead:

Capital Markets Strategy

  • Warehouse facilities
  • liquidity optimization
  • flow and whole-loan sale execution
  • capital partner relationships

Institutional Capital & Growth

  • private equity partnerships
  • securitization strategy
  • structured capital raises
  • investor reporting

Financial Infrastructure

  • GAAP reporting
  • FP&A systems
  • capital efficiency modeling
  • enterprise financial architecture

Strategic Finance

  • unit economics
  • leverage optimization
  • scenario modeling
  • scaling financial infrastructure for growth

The Culture: High Ownership, High Speed

Ternus is built around five operating principles:

Speed – decisive execution
Transparency – open financial visibility
Accountability – extreme ownership
Respect – strong internal partnerships
Service – building systems that empower the team

This is a fast-moving, execution-focused environment.

The CFO must be comfortable operating in a company where:

• decisions move quickly
• new ideas are tested aggressively
• leaders take full ownership of outcomes

If you are looking for a comfortable corporate environment, this is not the role.

If you want to help build something significant, it might be the most exciting opportunity of your career.

Requirements

Who This Role Is Built For

The ideal candidate is currently:

• VP or Senior VP in Investment Banking
• Private Equity deal lead
• Structured finance / capital markets executive
• Senior capital markets leader in lending

And is ready for the next step.

You should be experienced with:

• M&A transactions
• IPO or capital markets deals
• IRR and investment modeling
• institutional capital structures
• structured finance

Most importantly, you should want to own the financial strategy of a high-growth company.

What Success Looks Like

Within the first 12 months:

• predictable warehouse and liquidity management
• scalable capital markets infrastructure
• institutional-grade financial reporting
• financial systems capable of supporting rapid growth

Longer term:

Help scale Ternus into a major institutional lending platform and participate in the company’s strategic exit.

Benefits

Compensation

Base Salary: $250,000

Performance Bonus:
Quarterly bonus equal to 1.00% of company revenue

Location

Preferred markets:

• Charlotte, NC
• Dallas–Fort Worth, TX

Candidates outside these markets must be willing to relocate. Weekly presence in Charlotte office is expected.

Next Step

Qualified candidates will complete a short assessment and interview process designed to evaluate:

• capital markets expertise
• strategic thinking
• cultural alignment with Ternus leadership
