Under the general direction of the Supervising Management Auditor, the Analyst III conducts independent administrative investigations into allegations of wrongdoing by Department employees, contractors, and grant recipients.

This position is eligible to participate in a hybrid telework schedule.  Participation in telework is subject to the Department’s and Internal Audit Office’s (IAO) policies and supervisor approval.

Special Requirements

Must possess a valid driver's license as travel by vehicle throughout the State is required.  Approximately 30 percent travel is required to conduct investigations at field offices at various sites within the State.

Desirable Qualifications

In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:

  • Current and/or prior experience in investigating employee misconduct a must
  • Experience in investigating wrongdoing of contractors, grantees, and other subject matters a plus
  • Excellent investigative report writing in a clear, concise, and consistent manner a must
  • Ability to investigate thoroughly and navigate effectively through large amount of evidence to obtain relevant facts
  • Ability to apply appropriate policies and/or laws when conducting investigations
  • Ability to research, conduct comprehensive analysis, identify findings, and draw conclusions
  • Ability to understand levels of proof and apply the correct standard of proof
  • Solid understanding of administrative, civil, and criminal investigations and procedures
  • Be familiar with the effective chain of custody procedures
  • Strong work ethics and highest integrity
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent communication and interviewing skills
  • Ability to apply various tools throughout the investigation/reporting process
