Job Description

Job Title: Asphalt Plant Operator

Summary: This position is responsible for the daily start-up and operation of our hot mix asphalt plant, ensuring smooth production for our heavy highway projects. Previous experience operating a hot mix plant is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

Follow all company safety and PPE policies, as well as all environmental, health, and safety regulations

Understand asphalt plant operations, plant service requirements, OSHA regulations, mechanical maintenance, inspections, and record management

Start up and shut down the hot mix asphalt plant daily

Monitor and adjust controls to regulate the flow of materials on conveyors, chutes, pumps, and storage bins

Monitor production levels, material stockpiles, and operating temperatures

Communicate effectively with plant employees, plant manager, truck drivers, paving foremen, quality control department, and customers

Perform preventative maintenance to ensure plant operations run smoothly and efficiently

Perform other duties as required

Qualifications:

1-3 years of experience operating a hot mix asphalt plant

Basic mechanical and electrical knowledge preferred

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks
